Verizon has announced the launch of a new toolbox which, claims the carrier, helps small businesses cut their costs and increase their productivity. The announcement comes a day before the company is to release the new BlackBerry Storm smartphone.
Verizon Wireless Business Connection aims to match small businesses with appropriate Verizon products. The carrier claims to offer affordably-priced products along with 24 hour technical support. Verizon has also built a `small business` section on its website which includes product info, blogs and forums.
In a statement, the company said: "Verizon Wireless offers BlackBerry® Professional Software, an e-mail and data solution for BlackBerry devices designed with small business customers in mind. Small businesses with up to 30 users can access enterprise-grade security, control and performance without the big price tag."
Earlier in the year, a City Business Journals Network conducted a survey of 1,700 small business owners. Verizon was voted the "best telecommunications company for their needs" and the company hopes to capitalise on this endorsement with its new Wireless Business Connection.
Veronica Pellizzi, senior vice president of business solutions for Verizon, said: "This survey affirms that Verizon offers the best and the most innovative services to our business customers, giving them an edge over larger companies." Verizon provides its voice and data network to 70.8 million customers.
